The design is based on the Large Carving Axe, developed in collaboration with master craftsmen Wille Sundqvist and Onni Linnanheimo, inspired by traditional carving axes, but scaled to about 90% of the original size.
The Gränsfors Medium Carving Axe, designed for precision and versatility. This axe features a relatively long, curved cutting edge and comes as standard with a double-sided sharpened edge, perfect for detailed wood carving. For enhanced control, it can be specially ordered with a “carving grind” tailored for right-handed or left-handed use, with the cutting edge ground on the left or right side.
